We are a book club, currently reading in South London and North London (but don’t worry East and West – we are coming for you as we grow!).

The book clubs meet on a monthly basis to discuss books by women, for women, but we are open to all.

Come and join us!

About

South London Feminist

Book club

Our South London Feminist Book Club is our longest running club and has just celebrated its second birthday!

We launched during the pandemic, back in the days when all socialising was through slightly awkward ‘get to know’ Zoom calls.

From there we have set up a network of genuine friendships, lots of book chat, author specials and some outrageous socials. Seeing book club members meet up in their own time fills us with joy, so if you’re looking for a sign to get back into reading or just want to meet some new friends in the Big Smoke, this is it.

If you are based in South London and would like to join, please email: southldnfembookclub@gmail.com to receive a monthly newsletter with all of our latest updates.

North
London Feminist

Book club

Our South London Feminist Book Club was being visited by Londers across the city, so after multiple requests, we have launched a North London Book Club.

NLFBC will operate in the exact same way as SLFBC does, we will meet on a monthly basis to discuss the same book, but just North of the river!

We plan to organise socials where both book clubs can come along, creating a feast for all feminists and a great opportunity to broaden your social circle.

If you are based in North London and would like to join our monthly book club, please email: northldnfembookclub@gmail.com, or you can follow our socials: @northldnfembookclub

East & West London Feminist

Book club

If you are based in East London or West London and are wondering why you are being left out, we haven’t forgotten about you and you are more than welcome to join either book club.

However, when the time is right we will launch our third and fourth book club completing the London Feminist Book Club family, but for now we encourage you to follow our journey and keep an eye out for future developments!

Membership

We feel so honoured that so many of you choose to come to our meetings every month and appreciate we run at very limited capacity, with tickets valued at £10 per person. So, we’d like to offer our regular members guaranteed tickets via a subscription service.

Three months: £30
Six months:
£60
Twelve months: £120

Refund Policy

We are thrilled that we are growing so quickly, and our book clubs are now tending to sell out! Because of this we will be introducing a refund policy to make it fair for all.

If you cancel your ticket 7 days before the event, you will get a full refund.

Any closer to the event date, we will not be issuing refunds - as it is unfair to ask people to read at such speed!

Every month we have a waiting list of eager readers who missed out on a ticket, so it’s only fair we create some impetus to prevent those previous tickets going to waste.

  • Managing Director

Rebecca is the Founder of London Feminist Book Club. She’s a passionate feminist who has worked in women and girls rights (in some form) for over eight years – including working on national and international girls rights projects, and also worked for Welsh Women’s Aid. She is currently project managing various projects at the National Literacy Trust, working in the criminal justice team across prison settings and women’s refuges.

Rebecca set up South London Feminist Book Club after being one of the fortunate founding members of Cardiff Feminist Book Club. Iif you are based across the big bridge, give them a follow and show your support to our Welsh sisters!

    Favourite book

This is a really difficult one for me, but I absolutely adored Little Prisons by Ilona Bannister and have recommended it to everybody in 2022.

    Best talent

Is not being able to touch your shoulder a talent? It’s a long story…

  • Managing Director

Jo is an editor, writer and podcast host. Originally from Manchester, she has lived in London for six years and has an unhealthy obsession with her extremely naughty rescue dog Nora (@norapups). As well as reading, her hobbies include yoga, making espresso martinis and trying to convince herself that one day she’ll become a morning exerciser.

    Favourite book

I’m sure it’s one I’m yet to read, but at the moment most probably Sally Rooney’s Normal People, the characters make my heart ache and jump in equal measures.

    Best talent

Got to be the dance moves.
